Thank You for Attending Uni-Meeting! [Event Report]

Thank you for your continuing support for Uni-motion.

We recently held our first online event, "Uni-Meeting." We are truly grateful to everyone who attended. It was a valuable opportunity for us to hear directly from users of Uni-motion, making it a fruitful event for the team.

In this article, we will provide an exclusive report on the event's content. For those who couldn't attend or want to revisit the event, please read on.

During the Uni-Meeting, we showcased the 3D avatar of Unimo-chan, moving in real time.

Unimo-chan will appear in various places in the future. Stay tuned!

[Q&A Session and Talk Highlights]

Responses by: Yuki Mirai, Uni-motion Developer

  1. I want to see new illustrations of Unimo-chan!
"If we get more requests to see new illustrations of Unimo-chan, we might create them. Additionally, when new products are released, Unimo-chan might appear on the packaging...!"

  2. From a developer's perspective, how do you see VR and XR evolving in the future?
"I think the industry will continue to develop with the release of various products. However, with the current comfort and weight, it will be difficult for them to become widely popular. But once we achieve a level of comfort where you hardly notice that you’re wearing the device, VR goggles could transform our life just like how smartphones changed it."

  3. What personal challenges do you want to take on in the future?
"I always want to take on new challenges. Besides VR and XR, I'm involved in various fields such as machinery and want to keep creating new things. You might find a product I made without even realizing it."

  4. What will the next generation of Uni-motion be like?
"There is no concrete information I can share at the moment. However, we are working with the aim of delivering a tracker with higher accuracy. We are currently creating prototypes, and it will take some time before we can present them. We hope to provide something more accurate and affordable, so please look forward to updates!"

  5. What happened to hand tracking?
"We made a prototype, but while we were dealing with semiconductor shortages and setting up manufacturing lines, other companies released good products. So, we decided to focus on improving Uni-motion. We apologize to those who were looking forward to it. We will meet your expectations through the development of our next tracker product!"

  6. What inspired you to create a battery-powered tracker?
"I had never developed a product using lithium-ion batteries. Since it's something you wear on your body, it felt a bit scary. Also, it's advantageous compared to other products because you can quickly replace the battery when it runs out. Dry batteries have low voltage, so they're not enough to power the microcontroller running Uni-motion. Therefore, we've incorporated a lot of design and software tricks to ensure long battery life."

Once again, thank you very much to everyone who attended. The date for the next "Uni-Meeting" is yet to be decided, but we aim to continue creating opportunities to communicate with our users.

We will share new product information, event details, and Unimo-chan's adorable appearances on the official X account, so please follow, share, and engage with us.

We look forward to seeing you again. Thank you for your continued support of Uni-motion.
